Wonky Star Christmas Quilt

Look! I'm blogging quilts I did at Christmas time! Woohoo! Who'd have thought it would only take me three months to catch up on the highlights from last year? (Really, I did WAY more quilts than the ones I've blogged, but I used three different cameras and can only find one of the cards, so....)

Anyway! This is a fun quilt I quilted for the friend of one of my clients. I just love wonky stars. They are so fun!

She didn't want very tight quilting, but she wanted more custom, so in the sashing between the blocks I quilted a loose figure 8. In the block background I quilted a loose loop, and then I stitched in the ditch around the stars. In the center of the stars I quilted a smaller star.
The outer border I quilted with big leaves of holly. You'll also notice that I attached the binding for her using the longarm. :)
This is a shot from the back. She pieced this fun little block with the recipient's first initial on it. What a cool idea!!
