This is my new favorite tool. I bought it after it was a recommended supply for the NYD Mystery Quilt 2009. It is a piece of plexi-glass, with hot pink duct tape placed on the edges to prevent cuts and snags.
What does this do? You might be asking. Well....this allows me to help our environment out. How? I used to sketch out quilting designs on paper before actually going to the machine to quilt. This piece of plexi allows me to place it directly on the top of the quilt and draw with dry erase markers until I find a pattern or design I like, thus saving oodles of paper, which in turn is saving trees.
The design featured on the plexi in the photo above is the design I used on this quilt.
