My sister-in-law is Jana is the fabulous fabric designer behind this beautiful fabric. This is the free quilt pattern offered through Henry Glass Fabrics with the fabric collection. When she got her fabric in October, it was days before she left for Quilt Market in Houston. Between the two of us we busted out a TON of stuff for her to take to Quilt Market for her Schoolhouse.
I tried to quilt each block like they were candy. I outline quilted the fussy cut pieces and quilted loops in the border around them.
I whipped up this fun birthday banner while Jana pieced the quilt. It turned out so stinking cute in her fabric!
I echo quilted the cake with some details in the layers and embellishments.
Here's a slightly awkward angle of the whole banner. Cute, right?!
And here's a quick pic of the top of the banner. I bought the cutest - well, I'm not sure what it is....ribbon? It isn't ric-rac. It's kind of lacy on one edge. Anyway, I thought it would look great as the embellishment on the cupcakes. I quilted back and forth lines in the cupcake wrappers to make them look more like wrappers.
I used a neutral colored thread - either a light yellow or a white (I can't remember).
We also whipped up a darling ruffled pillow and Jana made some metal frame purses and a little outfit for my baby girl to wear on her first birthday (I should've taken pictures of the outfit on the baby, but I completely forgot. But I did get some video with the video camera, so that covers me, right?)
Anyway, Delicious Wishes is available now! Go to your local quilt shop and see if they have it in stock, I know mine does!
