New Moon for Charity

There are 37 Days left until New Moon opens.

There are 41 Days until our New Moon benefit PAR-TAY!

Tickets are still available to the PARTY. So! If you can't find tickets to opening night (which you probably can't because most places have been sold out for a month now) then call us at Sweetbriar Cove 801-423-1876 or email coltonsangels@gmail.com and get your tickets to the benefit PARTY!

Even if you have tickets for opening night you should still come to our party because it is going to be AWESOME! We have a TON of door prizes. And everyone gets a gift, too, for donating to the two wonderful causes.

Which causes, you ask? Well I will tell you!!

BORTO DESERET ORPHANAGE is an orphanage in Liberia (Africa) that is home to 40+ children who cannot be adopted because of Liberia's government rules. Their needs are incredibly basic: FOOD, CLOTHING, and MEDICINE.

COLTON'S ANGELS is a group of women who provide an annual scholarship to a graduating high school senior attending the auto mechanics program at a local college. This year they are entering a tree in the Festival of Trees (proceeds from the sale of the tree go to Primary Children's Hospital). They also have been gathering and/or making blankets, stuffed animals, coloring books and crayons, and other comfort items for a local hospital to distribute to children and families receiving treatment.

SO! Come party with us on the 24th of November!!! We're going to be wearing our red, white and black attire, deciding whether we are TEAM EDWARD or TEAM JACOB (or BOTH! in my case haha), enjoying a great movie based on a FABULOUS book (if you haven't read it yet, you should), and helping out TWO wonderful causes.

If you haven't seen all three trailers, then check them out below! (#2 is AWESOME, so is #3!!!)

Pretty Flowers

This cute floral quilt is a shop sample for Gracie Lou's.

In the center square I quilted a large flower.
In the border I quilted a vine, and in the background I quilted around the appliques and did a medium-sized meander. I used eggshell colored thread.

Hushabye

This cute quilt is a shop sample for Gracie Lou's. "Joy" brought it to me, and wanted me to do the same paisley pattern I did on her last one. It turned out so cute on the Hushabye line of fabric she used.

The back is a light pink paisley minkee, and I used a matching colored, light pink thread.

Christmas Strippy Quilt

This is a shop sample for Gracie Lou's. I love these strippy quilts. They are so fun!

I quilted the normal loops and swirls, but also quilted starts, holly leaves.....

....snowflakes.......

holly berries.....

....and Christmas lights.

Sorry most of the pictures are from the back view of the quilt, but you can see the quilting better that way.

I used a light green colored thread.

Witches

This quilt was brought to me by one of the ladies who works up at Gracie Lou's.

In the outer border I quilted swirls. I also quilted swirls in the background of the witch blocks.

Under the witch's legs I quilted spider webs.

I quilted details on each of the witches and their brooms. I used eggshell, black and whole wheat colored thread.

Paisleys

My client "Joy" brought me this cute, bright quilt. It is a shop sample for Gracie Lou's.

She wanted a paisley design quilted on it. Fortunately, I have just acquired a really cool quilting tool called a pattern board. It is a piece of PVC compressed board with a quilting design cut into it. Using a stylus, you guide the machine through the grooves on the board to get the pattern. This paisley pattern turned out so great on the quilt!

This is the backing fabric. I used an eggshell colored thread.

SNOWFLAKES!

This is a shop sample for Gracie Lou's.

I echoed the snowflakes across the middle of the quilt.
In the outer border I quilted snowflakes and loops. I used eggshell colored thread.

Lauren and Cameron's strippy quilt

My cousin, Cameron, is marrying a fabulous girl named Lauren. They are so cute together! Last week was Lauren's bridal shower. I made her this adorable strippy quilt from a kit I bought at Gracie Lou's.

I did something different in each row. In one of the rows I quilted their names.

I used a cream-colored minkee on the back and whole wheat colored thread. I used Hobbs Heirloom Wool batting. It turned out so cute!

Autumn Surprisingly Super Simple

This is a Surprisingly Super Simple quilt, done up in fall-ish fabrics. It is so cute!

In each of the blocks I took a flower from the fabrics and quilted it in five of the different blocks.

In the other four blocks I quilted 4 leaves in an "X".

In the inner border I quilted leaves and in the outer border I quilted loops and flowers. I used whole wheat colored thread
